Wichita school district replaces position aimed at fostering diversity, inclusion

USD 259 is looking to hire a director to oversee community partnerships and belonging initiatives.

It’s an adaptation of a previous role — director of diversity, equity and accountability. The district said the change is a response to federal directives about race-based initiatives as well as feedback about improving engagement with the community.
