Hiker falls 200 feet down steep section of snow at popular Colorado spot

Alpine Rescue Team, operating out of Evergreen, responded to a call for help in the area of popular hiking destination Saint Mary’s Glacier on July 23 after a hiker took a big fall.

According to a report about the situation, the call came in at about noon, involving a person who had sustained significant injuries after falling 200 feet down steep snow.

Alpine Rescue Team responded, along with personnel from Clear Creek Sheriff’s Office, Clear Creek EMS, and Clear Creek Fire Authority. The hiker was reached and due to the extent of injuries that were sustained, a Flight For Life evacuation was requested…
