On Tuesday, July 22, the Anchorage Fire Department (AFD) revealed in a press release that a hiker had been rescued from the Stuckagain Heights area after being the victim of bear mauling.

Authorities said they had received a 911 call from the hiker “reporting they were mauled by a bear and needed help as soon as possible,” per the release. “The hiker reported they could not get out on their own due to injuries sustained in the mauling.”…
