A suspect has been arrested in connection with a shooting incident from early this year in Lake Elsinore. On January 3, deputies had quickly responded to reports of gunshots at a residence within the 31600 block of Saddle Ridge Drive. They found evidence of a shooting there, but fortunately, no individuals were hit by the gunfire. After thoroughly reviewing video surveillance, deputies spotted an unknown male discharging a firearm at the residence.
The Region 4 Gang Task Force took over the investigation and was able to eventually identify 19-year-old Jalen Craig from Corona as the suspect. With assistance from the Lake Elsinore Station’s Special Enforcement Team, they managed to peacefully take Craig into custody on July 18, without any incident. He has been charged with shooting at an inhabited dwelling and is being held at the Cois Byrd Detention Center.
The investigation into the shooting has remained ongoing. The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department hasn’t released any additional details concerning the case. However, they have encouraged anyone with information related to the shooting to reach out to either Deputy Roberts or Deputy Costin at the Lake Elsinore Sheriff’s Station.
