FRANKFORT, Ky. — Gov. Andy Beshear on Thursday recognized four people who assisted a Kentucky State Police trooper after he was shot earlier this month at Blue Grass Airport in Fayette County.
KSP Trooper Jude Remilien was seriously injured July 13 when he was shot during a traffic stop at the airport. According to Beshear’s office, Jimmy Alexander, Jessica Alexander, Taylor Hall and Adam Arnold, an airport police officer, worked together to apply pressure and a tourniquet to Remilien’s leg and used his radio to call for help.
“Thank you all,” Beshear said in a Thursday statement. “Working together, you saved a life. You jumped into action without a second thought, and you showed the world the best of Kentucky. Your actions remind us of the good in this world.”
