DART will provide free fixed-route and Paratransit rides to cooling centers in Polk County beginning at 8 a.m. on Monday, July 28, and continuing until Polk County Emergency Management’s Extreme Temperature Plan is no longer active.
Temperatures will reach above 90 degrees this week, and heat index readings are forecast to climb over 100 degrees. Little overnight relief is expected.
