Baked Lab to open a storefront on Madison’s east side

When it’s time for a slice of cake and a glass of wine, “where do you even go?” Shawn Bolduc asked in an Instagram post Thursday morning. “You’re going to be stopping into Baked Lab. … THAT’S RIGHT, BABY!”

Bolduc is the owner and founder of Baked Lab, an east side cake business that hosts classes. He plans to open a brick and mortar location this winter at 2044 Atwood Ave., with opening hours Thursday, Friday and Saturday to start.

The Atwood space, a long-vacant building in the heart of the Schenk-Atwood neighborhood, was home to Wong’s Garden for 13 years (it was briefly Magic Wok before closing in 2014). The building is located near Bar Corallini, Table Wine and the Barrymore Theatre and will be the first walk-in location for Baked Lab since its founding in 2019…
