Downtown Augusta
The inside lanes of Broad Street between Eighth Street and Ninth Street, adjacent to the Augusta Common, will be closed to vehicle traffic to allow for the start of construction on the James Brown Linear Park.

Augusta Mayor Garnett Johnson will highlight economic development, recreation, and tourism opportunities along the Savannah River.
Impacts will include:
- Demolition of the center of the roadway and adjacent parking well.
- Closure of all parking along the outside lanes of Broad Street to accommodate realigned travel lanes.
- At least one travel lane in each direction will remain open.
Motorists should expect delays and use caution.
