BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — A man is facing a capital murder charge after a shooting in Birmingham early Wednesday morning.
According to Sgt. LaQuitta Wade with the Birmingham Police Department, a capital murder warrant was issued Friday against Quinton resident Cameron Keyshawn Jackson, 28, in connection to the death of Devin Wayne Hughes.
Wade stated detectives discovered Hughes and two passengers were at a nearby residence in the 1300 block of 42nd Street Ensley when the suspect fired shots into the victim’s vehicle as he tried to drive away. Hughes, a 32-year-old man from Albertville, was pronounced dead in the 4100 block of Avenue L around 3:30 a.m. Wednesday.
