$27M verdict for ‘physical, emotional anguish’ in Short North wrongful death suit

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WSYX) — A jury has awarded $27 million to the family of Gregory Coleman Jr., a bartender who died after being assaulted by security guards outside the now-closed Julep Bar in the Short North.

The incident, which occurred on Labor Day 2022, was captured on video and posted to social media shows Coleman being sucker-punched and rendered unconscious.
