Mayor Karen Bass Boosts Local Economy by Promoting “Dine LA” Restaurant Week in Los Angeles

As “Dine LA” Restaurant Week launches, Mayor Karen Bass is actively encouraging Angelenos to step out and support the local food scene. Dine LA, which is set to add flavor to the city from July 25 to August 8, features an impressive roster of 480 restaurants, marking it as the event’s highest participation to date. The initiative, produced by the LA Tourism and Convention Board, is a concerted effort to provide a lifeline to local eateries and the hospitality industry at large, as they continue to rebound from a series of setbacks ranging from pandemic aftershocks to disruptive law enforcement raids. The Mayor, along with City Attorney Hydee Feldstein Soto, illustrated this commitment by patronizing Downtown LA’s Maccheroni Republic—a show of solidarity meant to inspire city-wide participation.

“LA has the best restaurants in the world, and many of them are hurting from so many challenges, from the impacts of the reckless raids to the lingering fallout of the pandemic, we must support our neighborhood gems,” Mayor Bass stated in her call to action. She further emphasized the strength that comes from unity, a sentiment she hopes will emanate throughout Dine LA. Angelenos have a garage of restaurant options to explore, from 88 neighborhoods and 33 global cuisines, adding to LA’s reputation as a global culinary hub.
