Kentuckiana schools breathe sigh of relief as Education Department releases federal funds

FLOYD COUNTY, Indiana — As the new school year approaches Kentuckiana, New Albany Floyd County Schools is relieved to hear the district is getting its near $600,000 in federal funding before the school year starts.

“We were cautiously optimistic the whole time,” Superintendent Travis Madison said. “That it was just a temporary freeze, but again, we weren’t sure. We weren’t getting definitive answers.”
