AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) – A new construction project is set to begin at Rick Husband Amarillo International Airport starting Aug. 14.
According to City of Amarillo officials, the city council approved a lease agreement Tuesday with International Aerospace Coatings that included the construction of a wide-body aircraft paint hangar and additional storage building.

Officials stated the project will be separated from active air operations areas with a temporary fence and will include the removal of the Remain Over Night ramp markings. The tentative completion date for the project is June 22, 2026.
