RIDGELAND, Miss. (WJTV) – A local family received a generous donation for a young woman’s medical treatments from a new face in town.
TASTE celebrated its soft opening this past week. All of the proceeds from the soft opening went towards the family of another long-standing Italian restaurant in the area.

During the soft opening, $25,000 was raised for the Cerami family. The granddaughter of Cerami’s founder, Marion Cerami, suffers from multiple conditions that makes it difficult to function without expensive medical procedures.
“Marion was born with type one diabetes. Meaning she’s had diabetes since she was a child,” said Marion’s father, John Cerami. “And over the years, she’s had some health problems. Until recently, she has acquired kidney disease. She’s on dialysis three days a week, and she is on the list for a pancreas and kidney transplant that, we’re hoping to get done.”
Treatments for Marion’s conditions do come at a cost. The average cost of these treatments before insurance can range from $60,000 to $100,000 or more depending on the type of treatment needed. These treatments are vital for the family while they await an organ donor…
