Faulkner Co. Sheriff’s Office recruit saves field training officer from devastating crash

FAULKNER COUNTY, Ark. (KATV) — A Faulkner County Sheriff’s Office Deputy recruit saved his field training officer after a devastating accident involving both deputies.

On July 21, Recruit Deputy Matthews and Field Training Officer Deputy McLain were responding to a high-priority call involving an officer from the Vilonia Police Department. While en route to the location, the deputies were involved in a devastating crash with another vehicle on Highway 64 east outside of Conway.

After leaving the roadway, the squad car hit a concrete structure, spun into a tree, and landed upside down near a residence off Highway 64…
