Commerce City: ‘Staff prioritized’ change to roads after fatal shuttle bus crash

DENVER (KDVR) — After a fatal crash in Commerce City involving a shuttle bus and a pickup truck, Commerce City says they have implemented left turns on a green arrow at the intersection.

The intersection is at Tower Road and 81st Street, which is located near Canopy Airport Parking, The Parking Spot West and several car rental businesses.

City Government of Commerce City posted on Facebook on Thursday, saying starting on Friday, drivers will only be allowed to turn on a green arrow, and there will be “left turn on green arrow only” signs too.

The city said, “This change was already in the works as part of a larger safety effort, but staff prioritized it after a recent fatal crash.”…
