Pharmacy transfer raise legal questions

EAST AMHERST, N.Y. — Some former Rite Aid customers say they are facing confusion and even privacy concerns after their pharmacy records were moved to CVS without any warning. One Western New York man said it happened even after he moved his prescriptions elsewhere.

A local man says he made sure to transfer all his prescriptions to Walgreens more than a month ago. He says everything went through on Wednesday, when he got a text saying his prescriptions had also been sent to CVS.

Brian Koch said he never authorized that transfer and believes his health records were sold without his permission, even though he had already made a clear choice…
