Jury recommends death penalty in Shelby Nealy case

PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla. (WFLA) — A jury recommended the death penalty for Shelby Nealy with an 11 to 1 vote on Friday evening.

Nealy is convicted of killing his wife, her parents and her brother in Port Richey.

His attorneys argued that Nealy’s life should be spared, in part, due to trauma he experienced in his youth. Prosecutors laid out their case, claiming Nealy should be sentenced to death due to the severity of his crimes and his actions in the days and months after the murders…
