‘One of the best’ | Knox County Sheriff’s Office mourning loss of retired K-9 officer

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) – The Knox County Sheriff’s Office is mourning the sudden loss of a retired K-9 officer.

KCSO said K-9 Thor passed away on Saturday. He joined the sheriff’s office in 2017 and was assigned to the SIU Division, where he was deployed over 300 times in three years.

“He apprehended countless wanted people, had several large drug seizures, and was on call willing to be deployed at a moment’s notice,” KCSO said.

After retirement, KCSO said Thor protected his handler’s household for the next five years until his sudden death…
