More than 200 Siamese cats rescued from Fla. home

MANATEE COUNTY, Fla. (WFLA) — More than 200 Siamese and Siamese-mixed cats are looking for new homes after they were rescued from a Manatee County residence.

The Manatee County Government said the cats were removed after a resident reached out to authorities for help after realizing the number of stray cats he was feeding had grown beyond control.

“While the initial effort was an act of compassion, the population quickly expanded due to the lack of spay and neuter interventions. Officials emphasize that the individual cooperated fully with authorities and wanted what was best for the animals,” county officials said in a news release.
