REPUBLIC, Mo. (KY3) – Wilson’s Creek National Battlefield is hosting several programs to educate visitors about the Civil War leading up to the 164th anniversary of the Battle at Wilson’s Creek.
The Confederacy won the Battle at Wilson’s Creek on August 10, 1861.
From 11 a.m. to noon on Sunday, join a ranger at the visitor center to learn more about the different types of artillery used in the Battle at Wilson’s Creek. The weapons won’t be fired, but you’ll still get the chance to learn about how artillery units had become a major element of the civil war and beyond…
