Fire crews reported progress in containing the Lake Spokane fire, which is now more than 50% contained. The fire has burned 2,550 acres since July 19. Crews are engaged in mop-up operations and repair work along the containment line. Evacuation levels have been reduced across the fire zone. Areas previously under Level 3 “go now” orders have been lowered to Level 2, while former Level 2 areas are now at Level 1, indicating residents should “be ready.” This adjustment affects the region from Happy Hills Road to Rail Canyon.
