HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) — A man was arrested Saturday in connection with a shooting at an Evansville hotel.
On Thursday, officers responded to a 911 call at the Howard Johnson Hotel on Green River Road. Upon arrival, police say a female victim told them she had been shot. Documents say the victim was grazed on her stomach and shot through her leg. We’re told surgery was needed to repair damage to her femoral artery.
Police say the victim agreed to meet up with the suspect at the hotel over text. The suspect was later identified as 21-year-old Treyvone Hooks. The victim told police Hooks pointed a gun at her when he entered her hotel room and told her to “get on the bed.” The victim went on to say she told “no, you’re gonna have to kill me,” before texting for help. Once help arrived, the victim told police Hooks was running away when she began to yell insults. Hooks then turned and shot the victim.
On Saturday, police arrested Hooks and charged him with aggravated battery, battery causing serious bodily injury and battery with a deadly weapon…
