NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WZTV) — As temperatures soar into the triple digits across Middle Tennessee, one North Nashville church is stepping outside its sanctuary and into the streets — helping those most vulnerable in the extreme heat.
On Saturday, Greater Harvest Church of God in Christ, located at 2119 14th Avenue North, organized a special outreach effort to hand out water, Gatorade, and sandwiches to people experiencing homelessness across the city. But members say the mission is about more than just meeting physical needs — it’s about sharing love and faith with the community.
Along with supplies, volunteers prayed with individuals, offering words of encouragement and prayers of protection. It’s part of a consistent outreach effort the church carries out every month…
