A homeless woman was arrested for battery after attacking a fellow patient as she slept at LifeStream Behavioral Center.
An officer responded to LifeStream Behavioral Center, located at 2020 Tally Rd., regarding a battery at 2:10 p.m. Wednesday, according to an arrest report from the Leesburg Police Department. Dispatch advised that 21-year-old Djeudny Luc and another patient were in an altercation.
The other patient was being taken to UF Health Leesburg Hospital, and she was being loaded into an ambulance when the officer arrived. She stated that while sleeping in the facility, Luc started hitting her in the face. She did not talk to Luc prior to the altercation and could not say how many times she was struck, the report said.
The patient sustained a large circular abrasion on her forehead. She was unable to complete a sworn written statement at the time but verbally requested prosecution. She was then taken to the hospital for further medical treatment, the report said…
