ACHD draft budget brings widened roads, pedestrian improvements and new bridge designs

Meridian and Eagle are set to be the targets for some of the Ada County Highway District’s most significant construction pursuits.

ACHD has initiated its annual budget adoption process with the first public hearing on its draft budget taking place Thursday. The budget will be allocating an estimated $250 million in revenue for Fiscal Year 2026. Property taxes continue to be the largest revenue source, accounting for $55 million of the proposed budget, and capital projects — ranging from roadways, intersections, bridges and maintenance — are slated to account for about half of the proposed expenditures.

Though revenue for Fiscal Year 2027 was also provided — amounting to $203 million in total — ACHD Budget Manager Christine Tannler noted that this serves as a “guidance year” that will be refined and adjusted as its implementation approaches…
