MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) — Three vacant homes were burned to the ground Sunday night after a brush fire started in the Africatown area, according to the Mobile Fire-Rescue Department.

MFRD officials said calls began to come in about the brush fire, which happened on King Street at Baybridge Road Cutoff, around 11 p.m. on July 27.
Firefighters responded to the scene, where one of them had to be treated for heat exhaustion.
