Pensacola hospital receives American Heart Association awards

PENSACOLA, Fla. (WKRG) — Baptist Hospital has received two awards from the American Heart Association.

According to a Baptist Hospital news release, the ‘Get With The Guidelines’ and ‘Mission: Lifeline’ achievements are awarded for the treatment of heart disease and stroke.

The awards are distributed based on shorter recovery times, following the latest guidelines, and fewer hospital readmissions, according to the release.

“These awards show Baptist Hospital’s commitment to caring for those in their community who need cardiovascular care,” said Donald Lloyd-Jones, former volunteer president of the American Heart Association and current volunteer chair of the Association’s Quality Oversight Committee. “By following the American Heart Association’s quality improvement protocols, Baptist Hospital can help realize our shared vision of improved patient outcomes, fewer readmissions and lower mortality rates — a win for health care systems, families and communities.”
