Defense for accused Kei’Mani Latigue killer looks to have death penalty specifications dropped

TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) – Attorneys representing the man accused of kidnapping and killing 13-year-old Kei’Mani Latigue are looking to have the death penalty specifications removed from his charges.

Defense lawyers for Darnell Jones, who also goes by Darnell Ogletree, are seeking the dismissal of the death penalty specifications in the case, citing constitutional concerns. He’s facing more than a dozen charges to which he’s pleaded not guilty.

At this time, the prosecutor’s office hasn’t responded in court to the motion…
