Paleta season is in full swing in San Antonio, but a recall has been issued for certain brands of the locally cherished ice cream on a stick that could freeze sweet treat activities, particularly for those with certain allergies.
Tropicale Foods, a Canada-based company, is recalling a number of ice cream products nationwide from its Helados Mexico and La Michoacana brands due to the presence of undeclared milk, an ingredient used in the affected products.
“People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to milk run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products,” Tropicale Foods wrote in its recall, which was shared by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration on July 26.
Recalled products include:
