The Sequatchie Co. Sheriff’s Office K-9 “Gator” conducted a search of the Lewis Chapel Community Center while getting some valuable and required training. Sheriff Bill Phillips said Gator has been a tremendous asset to the agency in helping to fight the current drug epidemic and having the service available when tracking is needed. He also recognized Gator’s handler, Deputy Brett Boring, and the work he has put in to make this program such a success.
A donation from Project K-9 Hero funded the purchase of the Gator and Deputy Boring’s training. The K-9 vehicle was purchased through a VCIF grant, allowing this program to be initiated at no cost to taxpayers…
