19-year-old leads officers on pursuit after street takeover in Madera County

MADERA COUNTY, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – A 19-year-old was arrested Sunday after a street takeover during which he allegedly led officers on a pursuit in Madera County, the California Highway Patrol said.

On Sunday, July 27, just before 8 p.m., multiple callers reported a street takeover on Highway 145 at Avenue 7.

Approximately 30 vehicles were reported to be blocking the intersection, along with numerous spectators.

Officers say the 19-year-old was driving a black Jeep Grand Cherokee and was observed driving recklessly. A traffic stop was attempted, but the driver fled a high speeds, starting a pursuit…
