Gainesville man receives life sentence for February 2023 murders

A Gainesville man who shot and killed two people and attempted to kill two others in February 2023 received a life sentence on Friday.

According to a State Attorney’s Office press release, Judge James Colaw sentenced Dallvion Jarrell Parker, 31, to life in the Florida Department of Corrections for the murder of Brittany Avery-Hoisington, 33, and Trayvon Sheppard, 21. Parker also received a 20-year minimum mandatory sentence for the second-degree attempted murder of Frank Lagrange Jr. and Charmie Owens and a 15-year minimum mandatory sentence for tampering with evidence.
