Woodruff man pleas guilty to killing former coworker

SPARTANBURG COUNTY, S.C. (WSPA) – A Woodruff man pleaded guilty to murder after he shot his former coworker in the head.

Cody Flynn Kennerly, 35, pleaded guilty on Monday to the murder of Jason Hammett, according to the 7th Circuit Solicitor’s Office.

On June 8, 2021, at around 6 a.m., Hammett and two women had gone to pick up Hammett’s truck on Old Spartanburg Highway, after it had broken down the day before.
