A U.S. military plane makes an emergency landing at the Myrtle Beach airport

A military aircraft landed at Myrtle Beach International Airport earlier Monday morning after reporting possible engine issues, spokesperson Ryan Betcher wrote via email.

At approximately 9:15 a.m., Betcher said the military aircraft requested to land at the Myrtle Beach airport, and was able to do so without incident. After landing, the aircraft “made its way to the general aviation ramp under its own power,” he wrote.

According to Betcher, the airport followed standard procedures after the landing and completed a runway and taxiway inspection. Arrivals and departures on commercial flights were not impacted by the landing, flight data showed…
