ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – The Albuquerque Police Department released new statistics Monday morning. According to APD, homicide detectives have charged or arrested 42 murder suspects for cases that happened in 2025. That represents 82% of the year’s total cases.

APD says since the beginning of the year the department has also solved 17 cases from previous years. On top of the higher rate of arrests and charges, there has also been a drop in the number of murders. APD reports a 43% reduction of homicides compared to this same time in 2022. APD says the department has a clearance rate higher than the national average for the past four years.
