Resident sues to halt camping ban amid triple-digit heat concerns in Boulder City

KSNV — Susan Reams, a Boulder City resident, has voiced her frustration with the Boulder City Council, claiming her concerns about the city’s camping ban have been ignored.

Reams argues that the ban is inhumane, especially during periods of triple-digit temperatures.

“I believe the city council, probably in their conscience, wants to do the right thing however, they might be uncertain in how to proceed. It is a very delicate topic,” Reams said.

Reams expressed her disappointment over the lack of communication from the council. “That is a good question. I do not know. They spent a lot of time out talking to me when they were campaigning, but now they are invisible,” she said.

Feeling frustrated, Reams noted, “They have been to a lot of ribbon cuttings, but this is an important Boulder City issue. And I think that they should be reaching out to me because I have presented numerous solutions.”

Reams has filed a lawsuit seeking an injunction to temporarily halt the camping ban. “It is an injunction to halt it. At least temporarily and to come up with better solutions to protect people’s constitutional rights,” she said…
