Portage County deputies find 400+ grams of cocaine during traffic stop

PORTAGE COUNTY, Ohio (WOIO) – The Portage County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO) found over 400 grams of cocaine during a traffic stop in Rootstown Township.

On July 20, deputies pulled over 42-year-old Richard Johnson, IV for a lane violation in I-76.

According to a release from the PCSO, deputies found there was a warrant out for Johnson’s arrest, he had a suspended license, and he was not allowed to have a firearm.

Deputies asked Johnson and his passenger, Don Simmons, 38, to leave the vehicle while deputies and a K9 searched the vehicle…
