Farm to Fayetteville: New restaurant brings beer and bounty to former Mash House

A new farm-to-table restaurant that’s all about sustainable agriculture and whole animal butchery is set to open in Fayetteville this fall.

Owner Chris Beal, 37, said Bounty Farmhouse Kitchen & Tap has plans to open in September in the former Mash House location, which closed April 10 after 24 years. The Bounty Farmhouse will feature meat directly from Beal’s family farm in Chatham County, part of a co-op made up of 10 to 15 Chatham beef farmers that provide cattle for him. The meat is processed at his Sanford and Siler City butcher shops, Chatham Meat Company. Beal, a fifth-generation farmer, said his goal is to serve meals that honor both the land and the animals.

“We want folks to understand the stories and the passion behind the work involved in a pasture-to-plate restaurant,” Beal said July 23. “We want the guest to come in and feel like we’ve brought the farm to town.”
