MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WBTW) — Temperatures are extremely warm again this morning. The coast is waking up near 80, while inland temperatures are in the mid- and upper 70s. There are a few early morning storms inland as well.
Today will not be as hot as the past few days. There is a heat advisory in effect with the heat index near 105, which is better than yesterday. Yesterday’s heat index was over 100 degrees for 16 consecutive hours in Myrtle Beach and peaked at 112 degrees. High temperatures today are near normal at 88 degrees, but are feeling near 102 to 106 degrees. The Pee Dee will be in the mid-90s. Scattered thunderstorms will be more frequent this afternoon, with storms continuing each afternoon.
There are no big changes arhead for Wednesday, but it begins to warm up again on Thursday and Friday, where heat alerts will continue as a cold front approaches. Temperatures will be cooler and below average for the upcoming weekend as the weather will be stormy with the front. Highs through the weekend will be in the mid-80s with clouds and rain…
