CCPD detective recognized for tackling the recent surge in car thefts

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The Corpus Christi Police Department (CCPD) recognized one of its officers on Monday for tackling a recent surge in juvenile car thefts.

CCPD said there has been an uptick in stolen Kia and Hyundai vehicles, primarily taken by juveniles.

Detective Evette Frazier, with CCPD’s Auto Theft Task Force, took the initiative to develop a comprehensive plan for the ongoing issue.
