Tudor bridge repairs planned after truck collision

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) – The Tudor Road bridge spanning the Seward Highway is expected to remain open while repairs are being planned following an impact with a truck last week.

The truck, which the state Department of Transportation said was too tall, struck the bridge around 5 p.m. Friday, temporarily closing down the bridge, as well as two lanes of the busy highway.

In an update Monday, the DOT said that engineers determined that damage to the bridge was isolated to the steel girders underneath the sidewalk that goes over the bridge, adding that the area does not hold vehicle weight…
