COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) – A Columbia man was sentenced to federal prison on gun charges he allegedly committed while on state probation.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office said 30-year-old Jackie Watson was sentenced to five years for possessing a firearm during and in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime. Federal prosecutors said the ruling will run consecutively to his ongoing state prison sentence, of which he’s scheduled to be released in 2026.
Prosecutors said Watson confronted Columbia police officers in April 2024 as they responded to a call about a stolen moped. Watson reportedly told police he bought the moped on the street from a drug user…
