Kentucky teacher shares recovery journey at TriStar Skyline after life-threatening injury

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WZTV) — A western Kentucky teacher is sharing her story of recovery following a life-threatening farm accident that brought her to TriStar Skyline Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee.

Lindsey Crouch, a special education teacher from Mayfield, was helping move animals on her family’s farm when she was kicked in the face by a mule, resulting in significant facial trauma. Her husband and son provided immediate aid before emergency responders transported her to a local hospital. She was later airlifted to TriStar Skyline, where she spent 13 days receiving treatment.

Crouch underwent extensive care from a multidisciplinary trauma team, including physicians Dr. David Bentley, Dr. Robert Mericle, Dr. Andrew Miller, and Dr. Kelly Everman, as well as nurses Taylor “Tay Tay” and Blessings and rehabilitation specialists.

“I’m incredibly thankful that God has kept me here as a mother and wife,” Crouch said. “TriStar Skyline’s swift and expert care has truly been a blessing during this time.”

The incident marked the second time her family had relied on the hospital’s trauma services. Just one year earlier, her daughter was also airlifted to TriStar Skyline following a horse-related injury and made a full recovery…
