NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Heat alerts are in effect for most of Middle Tennessee and Southern Kentucky through Wednesday. Now through Wednesday will be hotter and more humid compared to the prior week’s heat alerts. This is an extremely dangerous time for heat in our region, but relief is coming later this week.
Heat Alerts
An Excessive Heat Warning has been issued for Southern KY and most of Middle TN until 8 PM Wednesday. This means it could feel like 110+ degrees between the hours of 11 AM to 8 PM. A Heat Advisory is in effect in far eastern counties until 8 PM Wednesday.
A Heat Advisory is when the heat index exceeds 105 degrees, but the National Weather Service (NWS) has now issued an Excessive Heat Warning, the first one this year, meaning the heat index will likely exceed 110 degrees.
