RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — New zoning restrictions are now in effect in the city of Richmond, limiting where new tobacco and vape shops can open. City leaders say the ordinance is part of a broader effort to reduce the number of these businesses — particularly around schools.
The ordinance, approved by Richmond City Council on Monday, July 28, prevents new vape shops from opening within 1,000 feet of another retailer. They must also be at least 1,000 feet away from schools, parks, public libraries and places of worship.
