Sharon Osbourne’s Grief on Display at Ozzy’s Funeral

Birmingham, England — A sea of fans lined the streets of Birmingham today to bid farewell to rock legend Ozzy Osbourne. The Prince of Darkness’s funeral procession traveled along Broad Street, allowing mourners to pay their respects.

Osbourne’s family, including wife Sharon and children Aimee, Kelly, and Jack, exited their vehicle at Black Sabbath Bridge to lay floral tributes alongside those left by fans. A visibly emotional Sharon Osbourne was comforted by her children, while fans chanted Ozzy’s name and a local brass band played some of his most iconic hits, including “Iron Man” and “Crazy Train.”

Body language expert Joanne Pearson observed Sharon’s demeanor, noting, “Her gaze remained low, her lips tightly pressed—a classic sign of emotional containment. Despite the deep grief, she maintained a quiet dignity and strength.”

Ozzy’s final journey began in Aston, near his childhood home, before the procession reached the city center. A private funeral service will be held in Gerrards Cross, Buckinghamshire, with a reading by singer Yungblud. Black Sabbath bandmates Tony Iommi, Bill Ward, and Geezer Butler are expected to attend, along with Metallica’s James Hetfield and potentially Elton John.

While Ozzy previously expressed a preference for The Beatles’ “In My Life” to be played at his funeral, he also stated a desire for a celebratory rather than somber affair. He told The Times in 2011, “I don’t want my funeral to be sad, I want it to be a time to say ‘thanks.'”
