Jacksonville’s Mayo Clinic drops in latest U.S. News Florida hospital rankings

Mayo Clinic is now the second-best hospital in Florida after falling from the top spot where it’s been for most of the last decade, according to U.S. News & World Report’s “Best Hospitals” 2025-26 report.

The magazine’s annual study listed the Jacksonville campus as the state’s No. 1 hospital for eight of the last 11 years. Advent Health Orlando took top honors this year.

“This recognition is a testament to our teams’ unwavering commitment — day in and day out — to providing innovative, differentiated patient care of the highest quality,” Mayo CEO Dr. Kent Thielen said.

How does U.S. News & World Report compile the rankings?

For 36 years, U.S. News has evaluated about 4,500 hospitals in 22 benchmark procedures and conditions, such as knee replacement, heart bypass surgery and gynecological cancer surgery. New this year are ratings in heart arrhythmia and pacemaker implantation, according to the magazine…
