Florissant man pleads guilty after fleeing police and injuring city worker

A Florissant man who led St. Louis police on a high-speed pursuit while transporting methamphetamine, fentanyl, and a modified firearm pleaded guilty Tuesday to two federal drug trafficking charges.

Jorden M. Owens, 23, entered guilty pleas to one count of possession with intent to distribute more than 500 grams of methamphetamine and one count of possession with intent to distribute more than 40 grams of fentanyl. The charges stem from a Dec. 12, 2024, incident in which Owens fled police in a stolen Lexus RC350 coupe through the streets of St. Louis.

According to court records, officers with the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department first spotted Owens near the intersection of Page Boulevard and Vandeventer Avenue. When they attempted to stop the vehicle using spike strips along Grand Boulevard, Owens accelerated and fled at a high rate of speed…
