Chicago Police Seek Assistance in Search for Missing 60-Year-Old Dennis Shines

The Chicago Police Department is earnestly seeking the public’s help in locating a missing person, Dennis Shines, age 60. Shines, an African American male with brown eyes and black hair, has been missing since April 1, 2025. He stands at 5 feet 7 inches and weighs 180 pounds, and notably, he is missing a toe on his right foot — a detail that might aid in identifying him.

According to the Chicago Police Department, Shines was last sighted in the 9300 block of S. Perry. He was said to be wearing a short sleeve button-up shirt that featured various colors, coupled with dark blue jeans and gym shoes. Efforts to immediately locate him in the area were unsuccessful, and concerns for his well-being have only to grow since the time of his disappearance.

Regularly, Shines is known to frequent neighborhoods such as the 4900 block of S. Ashland and the 5100 block of S. Bishop. Residents and business owners in these areas are particularly being urged to remain vigilant and report any potential sightings of Shines to authorities…
